About us
Maddie was a mother of 4.
She was young, around a year old, and a beautiful wirey brown/red medium sized dog with deep brown eyes that would suck you into loving her small little face.
Her puppies were only around 10 weeks old.
Just the right age to be adopted out to a loving a family.
Her puppies were beautiful. All with different markings, making them each unique but still having traits resembling their mom. Two of her babies had the cutest wrinkly little foreheads anyone has ever seen.
They would have undoubtedly melted so many hearts and have been a wonderful addition to any family.
Sadly, they never had that chance.
Maddie and her family were murdered.
They were all shot in the head by someone Maddie trusted and looked to for help.
Maddie's family were found together over a hill where a good Samaritan scooped them up and rushed them to a local veterinarian. Two babies were dead on scene while the other two and Maddie struggled to hang on to their lives.
Sadly, the bullets had done far too much damage and none of Maddie's family were able to be saved.
Maddie was named by Lisa Boyce at the veterinary clinic where she was held and comforted during her last moments of struggling for life.
Her puppies were named later by a collaboration of concerned citizens mourning the loss of this family they had never met.
Maddie and her family will be laid to rest at FIDO dog park in Fairmont.
A date and time for a ceremony to honor this family and raise awareness of horrible crimes against the defenseless will be announced soon.
