  For my birthday back in July i stayed in some fancy wee gypsy caravan affair with a wood fired hot tub out the back. Down in the Border area. It's a great area to spend the weekend if you like tromping around old abbeys and the like (i do). http://roulotteretreat.com/ great wee pub/hotel place nearby for food http://www.buccleucharms.com/ Just for a day trip i would recomend Doune Castle if you haven't been or a wee boat ride over to Inchmahome Priory. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inchmahome_Priory
