  Hotel Metropolis is kinda close to AT&T park. It's near Market & Turk - about 1 1/4 miles from it. The hotel is also about 1 3/4 miles the other way to Ghirardelli Sq. The Powell St. cable cars, which can take you about a 1/3 of the way closer to Ghirardelli, are just about a block away. The Wife & I stayed there a few years ago, when we were doing engagement shoots. Quite a lot of character for an older hotel and quite reasonable (thru Priceline, etc). http://www.haiyi-hotels.com/hotelmetropolis/
