Anyone else in the Bradenton area have a pet who suffers from idiopathic epilepsy? My fur baby has !! After several visits to the ER, MRI, testing of spinal fluid etc. I'm no further ahead. She is on several medications ( phenobarbital and potassium bromide) we had
added Keppra in attempts to wean her off phenobarbital as liver function test was high. Problem is after 52 days seizure free she is seizing again!!! My problem is my vet hasn't phoned me to discuss what we do next I'm at my wits end here. Does anyone have a vet who is effectively treating seizures in their pet?? I've been dealing with this for 2 1/2 yrs. We are guessing the seizures were brought on from Heartguard!! My dog is 6 yrs old and too young to be put down. The specialist in Sarasota thinks the seizures are moon phase related. I don't think so. Bayshore Animal hospital is now corporate and the vets there don't stay!!! I need a reliable veterinarian....HELP!
