The garage I've been going to for 20 years is suddenly charging a $99 diagnostic fee. Actually the fee isn't new. What's new is that even if I have the work done on my car, the diagnostic fee is still $99. In the past, if I had work done, the fee was applied to the cost of the repair; now it is not. Diagnostic fees and service call fees don't bother me unless it's an add on to the cost of the repair. This is the first time I've encountered such fee that isn't applied to the repair. I was desperate to drop the car off this morning and not have to find another garage. After today, though, Bay Area Goodyear is no longer my mechanic of choice. Anyone know of a good, trustworthy mechanic in Glen Burnie?
