Lori, hope you don't mind but I'm heading to Ottawa for a few days and would like to (hopefully) research my late Dad's WWII tour of duty, the "when's and where's" of his 5 years service overseas. He refused, or possibly couldn't due to the memories, to share his thoughts and recollections, and I'd like to tie that history into the family tree I'm slowly building. He was the son of 2 Home Children (my grandparents obviously) and it'd be nice to 'follow his footsteps' from 1940-45. Do you know where I should go, talk to in Ottawa? Would it be Veterans Affairs? Archives? War museum? Any guidance you (or any other group member here) can give would be sincerely and deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance m'lady.
