HELP!
Am moving to San Diego in a little over two months and I'm so freaking out about the best way to get my three cats there with me with the least amount of stress to them as possible. We were planning on driving there. I don't know of a good (or even local) place that does quality animal care transport and I'm freaking about them being in the car for three days and random hotels if they ride with me in my little car. (They have a freak out fit in the car for just vet visits). Any suggestions on transport tranquilizer options would be appreciated as well.
if I did fly to try and get them there more quickly, I hear that they must go through security and there is a one animal per human limit. And they scream bloody murder incessantly and Frosty has a bit of an anxiety problem. The quality and temp control problems with doing baggage check transport makes that not an option.
I also won't have a definite home or address for probably two days after we get there (so I don't want them boarded any longer than they need to be either if it comes to that).
I've also tossed around the idea of maybe renting an RV and just trying to get them through this as quick as possible. But I have no idea how that works or if there are special requirements needed to drive one across country.
Any suggestions on transporting my kitties or any vegan or compassionate transport companies that specialize in this? The situation is really stressful (and depressing)! I really don't want to psychological traumatize them for life. It is looking hopeless, expensive, stressful, and tedious. :( Any suggestions would be tremendously appreciated.
