Just viewed your presentation film and found it very moving. I couldn't help but scan the names looking for my uncles who were sent to Canada in 1901. It's very difficult to search from this end (UK) as Barnardoes will not open their records because we cannot trace next of kin. As children we were forbidden to have any involvement at school in collecting for Barnardoes which was embarassing as we could never explain why. I'm glad you included the words of the lady who was 'left behind' - although their suffering was different, it was just as real and just as unacknowledged.
