  What do you all recommend for starter protective gear? Are there certain brands that hold up better than others? I've had a tough time finding HEMA fencing gear that is available in the USA. Or are there companies that are happy to ship from Europe? Trying to find a helmet and other gear, for backyard sparring with my son (he has gotten really aggressive since turning 12).

  Question on buying gear that fits: Can anyone recommend a HEMA vendor that provides a good sizing guide and/or takes customer measurements for protective clothing and gear? I've been looking online to see what's out there, but all of the shops I've found have sizes like S/M/L/XL, and for a multi-hundred-dollar purchase I'm hesitant to rely on such a broad and ambiguous descriptor. I'm on the "long and tall" side, and ordering regular clothes online has always been a challenge. Any pointers and links will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
