This seems odd to me because our house is 10 years old and it hasn't been an issue before. Does anyone know of a reliable repairman who would be willing to give us a second opinion? You may have a broken spring and the opener will labor to try and open it. Look at your springs and see if there is a gap in one of them. God bless
