Update: Cameron moved to Virginia Beach now and the their website is http://www.spectrumautowraps.com/ The wrap did not last at all and it was stained so bad that I had to remove it. It did not last 6 months. He also promised to seal the seams so there will not be overspray.. yet another promise broken. there were overspray EVERYWHERE. Some I will not ever be able to get to.
it has probably been the worst decision I have done for my car. Learn from my experience and look elsewhere.
Cameron sprayed my NSX in Sept of 15. Before payment he is very quick on reply but once I paid the communication slowed down. It look almost a month from the payment to actually worked on the car. It supposed to be sprayed glossy gold on the lower side of the car, with glossy black on the top, spray brake calipers red and the wheel gun metal. I opted for him to paint the jambs too for additional $199 for a total of $1378.00
I dropped off the car on a Wed/Thurs and was promised to have it back by that Sunday. Well, I did not get it back for another week. It's fine if it's done right. But when I got my car back there are some issues...
Roof is not painted as promised (car is originally black so the roof is still black, just not painted as stated on the invoice for $239.99)
Bad color matching on the spoiler and the pop up lamp covers
Bad color coverage on the front vents
Lost my wheel lock key
We agreed not to do the door jambs so what was not done.
Cameron agreed to correct the color matching and respray the spoiler as there is a huge handling mark on it. I spent almost the whole day helping him working on my own car.
He was able to do a better job matching the color the second time and I am satisfied with the correction. He also said he will pay for the lost wheel lock key.
I asked for a refund of $199 + cost of the wheel lock key that he lost since I paid for the options to have my jambs painted and we did not. I did not ask for the refund of the gloss black roof he did not even do (on the invoice for $239.99) He replied that he painted my calipers (which I did not know it was an extra cost option) but eventually Cameron agreed to refund me. That was the last text message I got from him.
I filed a dispute with paypal and they decided this transaction is not covered under the buyers protection. So now I am out $199 + replacement cost of my wheel lock key + $239.99 for the painted black top which was never done.
Like any "good" business on Facebook he is also removing my comments.
So caveat emptor. (Buyers beware)
What I learned from this...
1. NEVER pay in full before the work is done.
2. Do your research.
Anyone know where you can get your car plasti dip? Bout how muc...
Cameron B. replied:
If you're in Richmond area check out Brandon Layne at Dipsys. If you're in the 757 check out Performance Color Dip. I do professional installs as well but I'm in the middle of a move back to Maryland so unavailable. But either of these two shops are legit. A lot of you are only familiar with plastidip but there are other similar brands (in concept anyway) that offer a smoother finish, more durability, and an overall better finish. Dipped or liquid wrapped (as I like to call it) vehicles can be washed the same way as normal paint, minus being able to use a buffer.
