  I believe Food Forward was started by bicycle riders who noticed ripe fruit going to waste. It seems like a good fit for Glendale. The Salvation Army runs a food bank here. Captain Rio spoke at a recent city council meeting about the need for food, http://www.glendalecorps.org/ - but the website says only non perishable items are accepted. It couldn't hurt to ask if they want some oranges too.
