  Calgary brides, any recommendations on an affordable photographer for engagement pictures? FH planned a trip to visit a school friend who lives in Canmore in September and figured that getting our pictures taken in the Banff/Lake Louise/Morraine Lake area would be amazing and would keep us occupied on the day that our friend has to work. We've been looking at photographers online but have been quoted up to $1300 for just the engagement shoot. We would ideally like to spend less than $600. I understand that different regions have different markups for wedding costs but $600 is still a lot more than what engagement shoots generally cost in Toronto (where we live). Is $600 a reasonable amount? I don't want to be lowballing photographers if $1300 is how much it normally costs. Any recommendations?

  I know someone (Facebook friend) who had an awesome mountain engagement session done by [Dunford Photography ](http://www.dunfordphotography.com/#e-22). They had some kind of deal on mountain sessions for Canada 150. [Becky Jean Photography](http://www.beckyjeanphotography.co) is Edmonton-based but does mountain sessions sometimes. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding she shot and her photos are beautiful. A girl I went to University with used [Carlin Anquist Photography](http://carlinanquist.com) and her photos were stunning, but I have a feeling she's expensive.

It will be about a 6pm ceremony that flows right into a cocktail reception, hoping for some photos of getting ready, the ceremony, reception and a few staged family photos during the reception.
