  Hi - I'm new to the group and have a question - if it's not appropriate please let me know, but I'm looking for advice on a new printer - and thought if anyone is printing at home you might have a recommendation on what you are using - and if it has a flat-feed or roller feed, can you let me know ? Wondering if I move forward printing on heavier stocks if a flat feed is the way to go....Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and again, I apologize if this is not an appropriate question for the group....just let me know.   Janine, the watercolor cardstock will be an issue when printing. The smoothness of the cardstock makes a huge difference in printing. Before you buy, test out the actual cardstock you plan to use - and make sure your printer setting is on thick cardstock. That is very important. I would check into the professional business printers around your area and set up an appt if you can to test out your needs and compare for yourself. Here is a good website that will be a starter for you and gives very good detail. You can buy through them as well - and they encourage you to send them your cardstock to test out. http://www.printershowcase.com/

  We have been using two Xerox Phaser 8560 for about two years if you go that route make sure you get the maintenance plan from Xerox about $600.00 a year. Also you can buy compatible inks but research before you buy, there is a specific(can't remember the name, will update) brand that works fine with the printer with excellent quality and half the price. We also use Richo c820 dn due to need of 11 x17 capability. I personally like the richo more then the phaser. Good place to compare printers: http://www.printershowcase.com/ All best
