  Are there any openings for therapists who are not certified in drug or alcohol abuse but would love to gain experience working with the population? The reason i got into the mental health field was to work with substance abuse and chemical dependency (specifically opioid addiction). I've taken several classes, trained in motivational interviewing, and have personal experience with drug addicts. I am a registered mft intern in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area. Please any leads would be great!

  My company is hiring it's a methadone clinic We are seeking a regular full-time Substance Abuse Counselor for our Lynwood Clinic located in the Los Angeles county. Position Responsibilities: - Provides counseling and case management services - Keeps accurate records to insure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as accreditation standards - Acts as our patients' liaison with entire program Position Requirements: - A certificate in alcohol and/or drug studies from an approved counselor certifying organization or proof of registration within six months of hire is required. Certification must be completed in no more than five years from the date of registration to maintain employment. - Registered MFT, ASW and PsyD interns, and licensed MFT, LCSW and PsyDs are exempt from the above requirement. - An AA or BA degree in Behavioral Sciences, Counseling, Clinical Psychology or related is required at hire when an applicant has not yet earned a certificate. - A minimum of two years of counseling experience in a related setting - The ability to develop comprehensive treatment plans and chart accurately - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Substance abuse counseling experience and an advanced degree are preferred What We Offer: - Health insurance, which includes medical, dental, and life insurance - Paid time off, which includes major holidays, birthday holiday, vacation and sick time - Paid lunch hour (full hour) - 401(k) plan - Early work hours and a business casual work environment Our Mission BAART Programs' mission is to provide people with cost-effective, comprehensive substance abuse treatment and other health care services at its clinics or through community linkages, and to make such services available to as many people as possible who seek them.
