Due to construction, a first grade class will be taking over the band room next year, and I'm a bit worried about getting complaints about noise levels.   If budget allows, cover your floors (even if carpeted) w/exercise mats. Kids feel freer with movement, I use them for lines/dancing parameters and they save your achy tootsies! Added benefit, acoustical help :) I get mine from getrung.com prices vary according to how many you order and they have free shipping. Just an idea.
