  For both projects I would consider hiring a licensed contractor. Depending on the age of your home it's very possible it has lead paint. If it does and it's not scraped and painted properly your neighbors and/or guests can sue if poisoned if you go with someone unlicensed. Plus EPA can fine you up to $37,000 per day. As for the foundation, the barn will need to be permitted and therefore has certain requirements needed for the foundation. My company can handle both.
