  The sage continues, can anyone recommend a decent garage in the Mansfield / Nottingham area?, I've had quite a few issues since owning my 09 XF, most recently it going into restricted performance again, it keeps going in and out, originally it advised EGR fault with a gearbox communication issue, the EGR has now dissapered after clearing the codes but we keep getting codes for Gearbox ECU communication error, the car seemed to work fine when it works and then will just jolt into Restricted performance I restart and it repeats but its now doing it more and more to the point I cant get 100M really. Has anyone got any ideas on this is it a common issue?.

  Hi All, Well after the incredibly helpful response I got following my enquiry about body shops in my area (I will post the outcome when there is one) and having read hereabouts there is wisdom in changing the automatic transmission fluid in the X350 box at around 60k I am looking for recommendations once again. I live in the North West and have been advised by the guy who usually looks after my car doing the stuff I don't have the time or equipment to do myself, that I should go to a specialist who has the kit needed to remove the old fluid, flush the system and replace with new. So, the obvious question is, can anyone suggest somewhere. I have looked online and there is an array of "specialists" out there:-(

  Rarely the actuator that fails. Usually carbon build up on the variable vains. We do an own unit rebuild service. Remove, rebuild and refit. New gaskets and oil and filter change for £750 plus VAT. 12 month warranty. Based in Doncaster. www.facebook.com/thejagspecialist
