About us
A professional stylist and makeup artist for over 5 years, Avis Saunders is working in the salon, film, entertainment, and bridal worlds.
After receiving her initial training at Douglas J Aveda Institute in 2010, Avis has continued her passion of educational growth in the beauty industry with over twenty specialized classes through Aveda’s continual training program as well working with TIGI, Redken, KMS, Brazilian Blowout and Arrojio to name a few.
Avis is a freelance stylist and makeup artist in the Metro Detroit area. Her hair experience ranges from advanced cutting techniques to color, texture and styling. On the makeup side Avis is well versed in techniques for beauty, film and print – with a focus in special effects makeup. She has also trained with internationally known Makeup Artist, Andrea O’Donnell.
As a Makeup Supervisor, Avis has worked on over a dozen film projects; including commercials for The Incredible Dr. Pol, Ye Olde Butcher Shoppe, Passport Pizza, BLT Apparel, Town Pump and Hillers Market; music videos for Kaleido, Paulina Jayne, Motor Honey, Mike Leslie, Ty Stone and the award winning Detroit-band The Infatuations; and on the films Skye, The Itch and Hindsight.
