So the fuel pump in the Caliber went out on Wednesday. So I called my friend Nick Palmer (Palmers Auto Service in Grand Rapids) to see if he could get it in for me on Friday. After he looked up what was involved in fixing it he told me that I should just do that one myself cause it would be 1.5 hours of labor and it looked really easy. He was right. I took the back seat out and the pump was out in less then 5 mins. The entire thing was out and replaced and the car put back together in less then 30 mins. So total I am out $220 but it could have been a towing bill, and 1.5 hours labor if it was not for the advice of a good friend and honest mechanic. If there is anyone in the GR area who needs work done go to his shop. He will treat you with courtesy and respect and give you a really fair price.
