I have a 95lb black lab who is a rescue, stubborn, and really dislikes getting wet. And just flat-out refuses to get in the tub at home. Anybody have a recommendation for me? We are still earning each other's trust so I want him to go somewhere gentle. But I also am tired of him smelling like a giant dirty sock. Thanks in advance!

  A Refreshing Paws in Merrimac 978-346-8912 or Wagging Tails on Low St. in NBPT. 978-465-5988. Both really wonderful. My dog used to act like she was Dead Dog Walking when I'd bring her in to the groomers, but not at these two places. A Refreshing Paws has a fenced in yard where they can burn off some energy before they get beautified. Also, don't forget the power of High Value Treats (roast beef, cheddar cheese, scrambled egg, chicken...). Reward often as you're washing him, if you decide to do it yourself. Wash & Wag in Salisbury has lower tubs (for DIY). And there's a DIY room at the car wash near Hodgies in Amesbury with a ramp instead of a tub. Prepare to get wet there, and the ramp is a bit steep. But you will be able to get it done. Good luck!
