Restaurant recommendations? My parents have just moved to Guelph and I’m in town right now visiting them! I was wondering if any of y’all have any restaurant recommendations as so far the places we’ve gone to have been only just been “alright” also specifically does anyone know of a good Chinese takeaway?
Edit: thank you all for your responses, I didn’t expect this many! I’ve made a list for my parents to check them all out!

You won't go wrong with [Buon Gusto](http://www.buongusto.ca/) or [Manhattans](http://manhattans.ca/). The latter, however, usually comes with jazz, so if you're looking for just time together to talk and catch up, it may not be the best choice. But, great food and usually great music.

Win Chinese is the best for takeout! Actually maybe the only good Chinese I have had in Guelph. For the love of god please avoid double dragons unless you have had 8+ drinks and 4 loonies burning a hole in your pocket. Downtown has some great restaurants, but not many that are cheap. 29 Carden, Buon Gusto, La Cucina (wednesday night half price pasta is an INSANE deal) and Mijiida are all great options for taking out your parents. For ethnic food I would suggest Na Ha for Thai, Warka Tree for Ethiopian and Diwa for Indian Food. Nguyen's has wicked bhan mi sandwiches too, theyre like $5 and totally worth it. Shawarma G is a great spot for Lebanese.

If you want bang for your buck takeout Royal City Chinese over Win. Both are the same "kinda meh" quality but at least Royal is good value and they allow for lots of substitutions - and remember them for next time! Better quality takeout go with PF Chen or Wok's Taste. Thai - Naha Thai Vietnamese - Pho Saigon Japanese AYCE - Hanami Ramen - Kenzo or Crafty Ramen Benh Thanh - mix of Asian cuisines, good for when no one can decide specifically. Generic stuff with a variety- Borealis, Earth to Table, 39 Carden Italian - Buon Gusto
