Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
When my little girl was born I decided that I wanted to work for myself instead of returning into employment. I couldn't have chosen a better more fun career. I never dread going to work in fact I can't believe that I get paid to have this much fun! I love kids and enjoy entertaining them so much!
Describe a typical work day for you?
A typical disco day consist of loading up the van, driving to the customer's venue. Spending 1 hour setting up. Then welcoming the children and parents to the party and giving a brief of how the next 2 hours will go. We play traditional party games then have a break for refreshments and present the birthday cake then it's back to the dance floor for more fun and games until close. Did I mention how fun this is?
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
My enthusiasm comes from wanting to give parents the best value for their money. I try to keep my prices as low as possible and I strive to give the best party possible. I love to see the kids having fun and joining in with the games and dancing.
At adult discos it's fun to receive song requests and watching everyone dancing away, enjoying themselves.
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
After years of entertaining our business model speaks for itself. We have so much positive feedback from customers who have used our service. It's such a compliment when we get repeat customers and new customers who have been recommended to us by word of mouth.
What has been your most memorable experience on the job?
Every job has it's own special memory. We hold a cartoon quiz and some of the answers from the kids are hilarious. When I look back at that it makes me smile
