As as licensed providers we are required to have First Aid & CPR and have taken the class on SIDS among other requirements. We have our houses checked by the Fire Marshall along with the Office Of Child Care for the safety of your child along with at least 12 hours of continued education each year. These providers go thru massive amounts of state mandated training at there own expense, they are inspected on a regular basis and because of there smaller size can provide more individualized attention to your children and you have the same provider caring for your child every day.\
Angela M. replied:I only asked for no in home day cares because I prefer centers. I tried an in home two years ago and hated it. Maybe it was a one time thing. And plenty of places take part time toddler. Its part time infant thats hard. Ill give all these places a call even the in home ones I wont let one bad apple ruin the batch so ill keep my mind open!

Just remember to do a good interview, ask for references from parents in care at the current time and parents that are no longer there. No one is more honest than a parent. I would prefer to have someone who has children around the same age so there are toys and other kids to play with. I am float pool at the hospital, so I don't have a set schedule, but usually know well ahead of time when I have shifts (with the occasional last minute call in). If you are not a sitter, but have a recommendation, those would be appreciated since I am incredibly nervous about posting this on a yard sale site...
