I was recently visiting my son-in-law and 20 month old granddaughter in Fort Knox, KY. My son-in-law took a short vacation while I stayed with my granddaughter. She was enrolled at this daycare, so after 4 days I was ready for a break and decided to take her to play with her friends for a few hours. My son-in-law called to let them know I would be bringing her in. Her normal hours were 11am-4pm, so I packed her up and, oops! Had to change a poopy diaper! Took care of that and headed to the daycare with the help of Siri on my iphone. I arrived at 11:05 and was told that she could not attend because they didn't accept kids after 11:00. I wasn't aware of this policy and I was shocked! 5 minutes!!! I apologized and told them I had to change her diaper before we left. It didn't matter. They couldn't disrupt the other children's routines. (The other children were just running around.) . I'm a retired elementary teacher and I understand about routines, but 5 minutes is not that critical! I told the lady I was really tired and needed a break after taking care of my very active granddaughter for 4 days alone, but it didn't matter. She was 5 minutes late and could not attend that day, even though the day was already paid for!! As upset as I was, I decided it was probably for the best since my granddaughter had started to cry when she saw where we were and didn't want to go in. She hasn't returned. If you are looking for a daycare in this area and are considering Cindy's Teddy Bear Daycare, I would suggest you keep looking. They don't seem to care about the needs of the children or the parents.
