This is Bill Danes he was killed in 2009 while waiting to dump a load of asphalt at a construction site on the road. The man that killed him was a repeat offender of drinking and driving. The man was also traveling in the wrong direction in the construction zone, when he struck and killed Bill. Bill had three boys Brandon, Evan, and Grayson who will never get to see their daddy again, and in two years the man who killed him will be free walking the streets again, and will even get to drive. We are getting signatures to petition the state for a mandatory sentence for drunk drivers who kill men and women that are working on the interstates and highways. Whether it is a truck driver, construction worker, police officer, firefighter, ems, or a tow truck driver. Two years for taking a man life's life who was working to support his family is not justice! Repeat offenders should not be able to drive again. Had this man had his license taken away from him Bill would still be with us today!we know that there are many other families who have endured losses of their loved ones in the same manner. We are not only fighting for Bill, but we are their voices also!
We thank you for supporting our efforts to ensure that other families do not have to endure what Bill's has. Pass the word on to support helping us to get a Danes Law drawn up and passed!
Our ultimate goal is to have this law Nation Wide. We're working on a web page where you can electronically sign the petition. We do have paper petitions if you're interested in helping spread the word we can get you copies of the petition so you can help get signatures! We need 500,000 signatures to make this law National.
