In April 2016, my mom had an estimate from Loper and Loper that was less than everyone else to fix a leak in her family room. The estimates from 2 other roofers said they needed to replace the roof, but Bill Loper said do not let anyone tell you that, the shingles on the roof are fine. He said the only thing wrong with the roof was the flashing needed to be replaced, Ridge Vent needed to be refastened and to “repair roof where leaking”. He assured us, that would solve the leak. The roof leaks as bad now as it did before he "fixed it". He is refusing to come back to the house nor will he give us our money back. He said there are no warranties on fixes (his website says 2-year workmanship GUARANTEE) – do not believe it. Now he says the shingles need to be replaced and he wants to charge us $8,000 to do that for the whole house. All of the other estimates are around $2,000 for rubber roofing on the living room as they say that is the only part of the roof that is bad (due to roof pitch). So now we are out $800 for work that was included in the original estimates that would have cost more initially, but would have fixed the problem. Filing claim with the better business bureau and likely small claims court.. First time we ever had this type of experience….
