URGENT SITUATION AND ADVISE NEEDED:
We have gotten a call about a sick dog in Saginaw, Michigan. The owner was in a bar fight and taken to the hospital on Sunday, leaving his dog outside. The neighbor states the dog had not moved in the last two days and he went over to get the dog after making several calls to their AC and not getting a return call about the dog laying lethargic in the yard. The neighbor took the dog in to his home last night because he thought the dog was curling up to die. He is still lethargic and has taken in a little bit of water but is dropping his head back down into the water bowl after taking one or two licks. They literally have to remove his head out of the bowl so he will not drown. Here is our issues with this. The neighbor will not claim responsibility for the German Shepherd to take him in for treatment, nor can we. Since the dog is owned, I am reaching out to the owner at the hospital to see if I can get permission for treatment. However, if we do get permission, we do not know of any vets in the area to take him to. Although ER is probably best, we are working on limited funds to help this dog, so a regular vet would be ideal if we can find one. DOES ANYONE HAVE INFO OF GOOD CARING VETS IN THE SAGINAW AREA?
