  My husband and I just got orders to Hawaii, and less than two months to get there. This will be our first move. We are Navy (E4). We have one cat and one dog, no children, one car and a storage unit full of stuff. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone has. I have no idea where to begin. I don't know what paperwork needs to be done for a military move, shipping our things and car, getting the pets squared away, and information on the area. Apparently his boat is going to be at Hickam Joint AFB on Oahu. Also, information about housing (On VS. Off base). Thanks :)

They can answer your housing and local information questions: HawaiiHousing@navy.mil or 808-474-1820. Also, you can start your housing application process now, no matter what housing you decide on, thought the Navy Housing Early Application Tool or HEAT. www.cnic.navy.mil/HEAT.
