I'm actually a health insurance broker for a health insurance recommendation tool (Stride Health - give us a google!) and one of our team members recently wrote a blog post about getting coverage for transgender persons. Basically, with the Affordable Care Act, everyone is guaranteed coverage regardless of your gender identity or pre-existing conditions. All plans cover basic mental health needs as well.
