PHR is a 501 C3 local dog rescue in SW WA. We are a group of people who offer foster care, when there is availability, and other options for owners to care for their pets in difficult times. We do not have a shelter, but are working towards opening a rehab and training center on property already purchased in the Chehalis area. With help from our co founder, Laura Patterson, we are able to donate food to those who want to keep their pet, but are having difficult times paying for food. With help from our other co founder, Deb Harp, we work with dogs who may need some training tips to help with behavior problems that would otherwise send these pets to a high kill shelter. We hope to encourage children to appreciate and become educated in positive pet interaction for their future and their pet's future. Pets depend on us for their happiness, positive behavior and welfare. We are passionate about our desire to help dogs and to teach others about caring for their dogs, whether behavioral or physical wellness. We work with people who need assistance placing their dog in a new loving home when their circumstances change, including losing their home, other members of the family are unable to work with the dog or other unfortunate things happen in the owner's life. We help with donation of food, when we can, to keep the pet in the home and also can recommend a trainer, Deb Harp, to help with issues in their home regarding the pet's behavior. With the strength of our other members, including Rebecca Vincent, Dr. Brandy Faye, Angela Fleury and Sandy Winberry, we work to keep dogs where they belong, with their family. When this is impossible, we assist in fostering, as available, and looking for a new loving home through social media and word of mouth.
