Let me start by saying BK seems like a nice lady, but the amount of unprofessionalism that I have faced after dealing with her for my wedding is unacceptable.
I don't even know where to start. She is difficult to get ahold of, unless of course you haven't booked or paid her yet. But if you have a complaint she will blow you off for MONTHS.
I paid BK in full for her full coverage wedding package. I was told if we paid in full we would receive a free session which I used for boudoir photos. I was also promised an additional free bridal session because she said she loved my dress.
For the boudoir, I wanted to have those photos ready to give to my husband the morning of the wedding. She promised me her turn around time was short but she had many excuses for why I had not received my photos weeks passed the quoted turn around time. She literally gave me the disc at my rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. I will say I'm grateful that at least I got them in time.
The wedding... I have several issues with. I will say some of the photos are okay, but MANY of them are very poor quality. Grainy... blurry.. absolutely unusable. Many major iconic shots were missed or not taken entirely.
She also left my wedding early, despite me paying for "full coverage" even when I specifically asked for her to let us get some photos with the sparklers we bought as going away/leaving the reception photos. I was fine just taking them and walking back inside but she just up and left. Then she had the audacity to say that I told her to leave early without taken the pictures! She stopped me in the middle of dancing with friends to say she was leaving, so everyone standing around heard me ask her to let us get the exit pictures done. She said she had to go and left.
I get that weddings are hectic, I know for sure that mine was, but still... leaving early? Missing photos? Poor quality images?
She also "forgot" to send me my wedding photos. After multiple times of me asking about them. And telling her multiple times to keep me updated. She eventually found them in a pile with other discs and delivered them. The turn around time was 2-4 weeks I believe and I got my photos after 2 months. She also finished editting another wedding before mine, when my wedding was shot before theirs. They had a family health issue, which is fine, I understand that. But PLEASE let your clients know that because I also had a sick family member and they passed before getting to see any pictures. We had not even seen a sneak peak of the photos.
For the free bridal shoot... I assumed that would be taken sometime before the day of the wedding as that is typical, but she said we would wait until it was cooler to shoot that (wedding was in May). I kept asking her about it with no reply. Months went by. Finally she said she didn't know what I was talking about. We also were going to be paying her a small amount to redo a few pictures of my husband and I since some photos were missed. We did have a date scheduled but had to cancel (well in advance) due to work confliction and living out of town. She did not respond the last time I asked about rescheduling so I just flew that out the window.
She has thrown me on the back burner for SIX MONTHS since I made my initial complaint after receiving my CD. I have been very nice and patient, but when I kept asking her to look at the terrible photos she gave me and see if there was anything that could be done to fix them or if she could look through the originals for any pictures that she did not already give me.
Just flat out ignored me MULTIPLE TIMES. I would ask about it and if I was lucky enough for a reply (literally a month would go by and no reply) she wouldn't even acknowledge what I was asking her.
She even gave me her cell number to contact her with, because she claimed she never saw my Facebook messages. But even then she does not respond in a timely manner.
I am not the only one that took notice of the quality. I had a photo printed out and when I bought it, the guy that printed asked if that was a professional that took that photo because it was the worst quality that he's ever seen. All of my family members and friends agreed that the quality of some of the photos are not professional. They also stated that she was standing around most of the wedding. So it is not just me that thinks this.
I will admit she fixed TWO photos. But that is it. And even then it was a nightmare trying to get her to fix just those two over a six month period.
I am very understanding but these issues are just unacceptable for someone who claims to be a professional photographer. I get that people get busy, but this ordeal been a roller coaster ride.
Back in November, and I quote from her text message "I didn't receive the notification that you had emailed me, so I looked at our original email and there it was! I can see the issues now that I'm back to using the proper editing monitor. I have decided to go through ALL of your released images, and make sure they are up to my personal standards." "I refuse to release anything but my personal best, and unfortunately I was stuck in a position where many images looked great under small frame."
So even she admits that there was fault on her part.
She ignored me again, said she would be in contact, then never got back with me. I messaged her today and was given an excuse that she would be out of town til January 2nd, supposedly unexpectedly.
This is RIDICULOUS. I was hoping to have these by Christmas, at least. I promptly asked for a partial refund to compensate this ridiculously half a year wait to have these issues resolved and for not delivering our promised agreement of services. Being which, that I would receive quality images for a full event wedding photography. Seeing as that it has been 6, going on 7 months, and that she left my event early, on top of other above mentioned complaints, that this is reasonable.
I was told she did not agree with my complaints and would not be giving a refund.
Sorry for the long review but I had SO many issues dealing with this photographer. I am sure she has delivered better work, but I cannot believe how unprofessional she has been. It has been a miserable experience
I need a photographer that won't charge me an arm & a leg to do a 4 generations session . It doesn't have to be ASAP as my nana isn't feeling well & my mother is out of town, but sometime before Halloween if possible ...
