Asthma/Allergist Doc Recommendation? Hey folks. Looking for an MD who specializes in Asthma and Allergy. Yes, I can ask Dr.Yelp, but I want some anecdotal stories about how you love your doctor. I've got asthma that's controlled but allergies are getting out of control and think I need shots again after living in the northeast for a while.
Thanks in advance!

I've had a great experience with Dr. Howland at Allergy & Asthma Center of Austin (nosneezes.com). I've been getting allergy shots for the past 4 years and doing great (considering I'm allergic to everything), ending them here in March. He just moved to the Duval & 183 area.
I need to find an allergist/gastro specialist. Any recommendations?
The last 2 Mondays I have broken out in some insanely itchy hives. I honestly have no clue what it could be from. They went away with a double dose of Claritin.

Julie, we use Dr. Lieberman out of Austin. He is at Allergy and Asthma Center of Austin. You can see him at www.nosneezes.com. Corey, Kylee, Camryn, and Gage have all seen him.
I know it is kind of late and I may repost this but I need to find a good allergist for Hanna. She has had chronic hives for almost 2 months. We have been to a allergist and lets say it didn't end well that is why I am looking for another one.

Try William Howland in Austin or his partner( can't remember his name) they treat adult and pediatric, I've know him for over 35 years, great MD and friend http://www.nosneezes.com/ Allergist and Asthma Specialist | Allergy & Asthma Center of Austin www.nosneezes.com The Allergists and Asthma Specialists at the Austin Allergy & Asthma Center of Austin have the experience to battle your Austin allergies.
I see Dr Howland up on Mo Pac and Breaker. He's cool- very funny and silly, but more importantly he's damn honest and direct. I dig him. http://www.nosneezes.com/
Any of my Central Texas friends able to recommend an allergist?

I take Hunter to Dr. Lieberman at the Allergy and Asthma Center of Austin. He is a pediatric allergist but I think he takes adults as well. I know his partner takes adults for sure. Their website is www.nosneezes.com. He has done a great job with Hunter!
Dr. William C. Howland III with Allergy and Asthma Center of Austin. Phone # is 512/345-7635 Especially good in treating allergic asthma!! His office is located on Northeast corner of North Mopac and Braker next to The Domain. I have been a patient for many many years.
My family is moving to Austin from Michigan. Does anyone have any recommendations for any elementary schools or districts that are food allergy friendly? Plus any good food allergists in town or elsewhere?
Whitney O. replied:
Kate, many people use 'Specially for Children (http://www.speciallyforchildren.com/specialties/allergyasthmaimmunology.asp) or Allergy and Asthma Center of Austin (http://www.nosneezes.com/). As for schools, I think all schools handle it to the best of their ability but you'll have some challenges wherever you go. I've never heard one one particular elementary school that handles food allergies particularly well. We all have discussed how we have the big, intense conversations with school nurses/principals/teachers and fill out the health care plans. Overall, I think AISD has a good system in place but it still takes a lot of advocacy to make sure the system is adhered to completely. What area of Austin will you be moving to?
