Hi Canberra Mums, I was just wondering if anyone can give some advice in relation to plumbing. We have purchased a new house and are still under our 3 months maintenance period. We have discovered that both our showers and our bath has the fittings incorrectly installed. To get water you have to push the tap handle down, instead of up and to get hot water you have to turn it towards the cold and vice versa. Our vanities, kitchen and laundry sinks are correctly installed. Anyway we spoke to the builder who advised that to fix this would take more than a weeks worth of work and would be major as they would need to break through the walls and re-tile etc. He said he realised it after the work was done and that the tap ware comes from Asia. We don't think its acceptable to have taps that are backwards especially with young kids around. Is someone on here a plumber or lawyer who can give some advice. We want this fixed but are worried that the builder will just say its too much work. Thanks in advance :)
