[Help] Can anyone give me advice to how to search for dog dermatologists / allergists (a google search just seems to pull up regular vet offices with no indication that they work with skin issues). It would be extra helpful if you have recommendations for someone in NYC! My dog has always had a problem with itching, but his regular vet has been pretty useless on this issue, i.e. I'll bring it up during appointments but they brush it off as no big deal. He also licks his paws a lot, stops mid-activity to scratch in the same spots, and just seems generally uncomfortable. So I want to figure out how to help him better because so far switching his food and adding supplements doesn't seem to be doing much. Does anyone have advice on how to find a specialist (or have any recommendations - I'm in NYC!)

Maybe contact [these guys](https://www.amcny.org) on their none emergency number. Odds are they have a dermatologist on staff.
ISO a really good vet that accepts payment plans. Please let me know if you know of any!

I'm not sure the name but the number is 828-264-7007. Animal medical hospital maybe? They ask for $40 up front which is way cheaper then everywhere else but when it comes time to pay for the whole thing you write a check for the amount but when you date it put the date you'll have the money. Like when we went we was there a Tuesday but wouldn't have the money til the next Friday so we put the date for that Friday we got paid
Veterinary Oncologists near NYC Long story short, was on a work trip & my dog sitter called to tell me my dog had not eaten in 3 days. Asked her to take him to the vet who told her he has very aggressive lung cancer. No tests outside x-rays are done, but he is not eating and his breathing labored. Cut my trip short and I am back in NYC today. I am looking for your recommendations for a veterinary oncologist who can confirm/deny the cancer prognosis. Anyone here have recommendations?
Thank you in advance, I'm in a state of panic and will take Petey to an oncologist today.

When I worked at a vets office in the suburbs, we would refer our patients that required more advanced care to [Animal Medical Center](http://www.amcny.org/). Maybe start there. I believe they're fairly expensive, but they're the advanced hospital I know of in the city.
Hey everyone, I'm wondering if you could recommend an affordable Vet for my older dog to get some dental work done.
anyone know the best priced place? ( Calamit Y. Chang, Amy Doran)

The Animal Medical Center is surprisingly affordable, mostly because it's a teaching hospital and one of the best in the world. It's on York Ave and 62 nd. http://www.amcny.org/
