Is there one person who can do various types of jobs around my house? I just bought a 70 year old house, am newly on disability retirement after 25 years with the Post Office, and have a list of things I need done (very) reasonably by an honest person. The thought of having to call out a different person for each type of job is overwhelming and I don't have the money to pay separate service calls for multiple professions.
I need some small limbs entwined with thick vines cut off the top of my carport. My power line runs right through the middle of this mess.
I need an electrician to install some grounded outlets in this joint! About half the outlets are old two pronged outlets, the rest are "six pack" grounded outlets like the ones you plug into a regular outlet, but they seem to be permanently installed, however they're old also and pretty much everything I plug into them is loose and tries to fall out. My television is plugged into a surge protector that is plugged into a three-to-two prong adapter. Had the place inspected by an electrician prior to buying it but the whole thing makes me nervous.
I would also love a front porch light and a couple more flood lights added.
One side of my kitchen sink leaks.
One outside faucet is so close to the siding it's hard to turn the knob and it squirts water three feet in the air when I turn the hose on. Need new faucet on a longer "stem"? (Yes, I know that's the wrong term but you know, I'm a girl, lol.) Plus, this faucet is right next to the crawl space opening and I have no idea how to insulate the pipe against freezing as the pipe under the house is basically open to the air. Sorry, never had this problem before, I'm used to having a shut off valve in the garage of the home where my ex lives with wife #5.
Any recommendations are much appreciated!
