  Hey is anyone racing the North Face 50 miler on Dec 6th? If so is anyone interested in splitting a cheap hotel room and carpooling down? I get off work Friday night at 8:30pm in Sacramento then heading down. Or if anyone lives down there and wouldn't mind me sleeping on the ground that night. I would be down there around 10 to 10:30pm and would wake up and leave at 3:30am.

  if you are priced out and don't mind camping, try calling the marin headlands visitor center and see if a site is available at bicentenneal near battery wallace (close-ish to the start). they are free. (415) 331-1540

  The number for campsite reservations is 415-331-1540. Check out the website at http://www.nps.gov/goga/ . It isn't encouraging for this weekend, though--they say the sites fill up fairly quickly.
