About Katie:
Katie is a professional musician and teacher residing in Gardner, KS. She studied music at Kansas State University and has been successfully teaching youngsters to play since 2011. Katie believes that the best approach is a positive, encouraging one, based both on solid developmental principles, a willingness to go at a student's own pace, and an effort to never lose the joy of making music.
Katie has also performed professionally for weddings, funerals, and other occasions.
Katie is pursuing her degree in Music Education at Baker University in Baldwin, KS.

***Studio Lessons Rates, Philosophy and Cancellation Policy: PLEASE READ BEFORE ENROLLING***
Piano lessons: $15 a lesson. Lessons are given at my home and are usually 20-30 minutes long. Lessons are aimed at making music fun, while encouraging a "base" of knowledge that will help students excel, no matter which instrument they choose to pursue most avidly.
Students should be able to read and write their letters consistently, and have the attention span to sit through a 30-minute lesson before they enroll with Katie's Piano Studio.
Cancellations: It is to be expected that schedules will occasionally conflict. From time to time I have an event in the evening which will warrant lessons being cancelled, or may contract an illness. Cancellations on the studio end will always be posted on Facebook, and you will be notified via text or Facebook message. Cancellations on my end are always free of charge.
If you cannot make your scheduled lesson, please let the studio know as soon as possible. There may be another student who wished to reschedule and I can use that time slot. Of course, I understand that students and parents get ill and advanced notice is not always possible. However, no-show lessons without notice will be charged the full amount of the... show more
lesson fee, and consistent no-shows will result in termination of service.
**SPRING/SUMMER 2014 Payment Policies**
As studio enrollment increases, I have decided to go to a more structured payment expectation to help me keep better records for tax purposes. Payment for the entire month will be due at the first lesson of the month. (Obviously, if this will be a financial difficulty for your family, PLEASE speak with me and we can work something out.) If lessons are missed during the course of the month, you will be credited toward the next month.
***SPRING 2014 CLOSURES AND RECITAL INFORMATION***
