  Blum animal hospital up at Belmont and Clark is very good. Thats where i take my 2 dogs. There is also the Chicago vet emergency and specialty center at 3123 n clybourn They're open 24 Hours and on weekends.

  Bernese Lovers, I've unfortunately been led to believe that my 11 month old Bernese Sammy may have diabetes. Has anyone dealt with this before? If so, do you have any vets to recommend? Brandon

  Diabetes, while it has many symptoms such as thirst, hunger, weight loss, excessive urination, just to name a few, those are also symptoms of other things as well, so to get an accurate diagnosis, your dog needs a veterinary exam, where your vet will most likely do a urinalysis, fasting blood-glucose, among other test to determine the cause. Over the last 25 years of having dogs and cats, I’ve been going to Blum Animal Hospital-3219 N. Clark, Chicago, IL 773-327-4446. They have a large staff of excellent veterinarians run by co director Dr. Robert Dann. Dr. Amanda Evans has been treating my dog’s diabetes and she’s doing great, now that the diabetes is under control. Hope you get Sammy to a veterinarian for a proper diagnosis, whatever it may be...
