Brad originally came out to our home way back in September 2015 to clean up the entire property. He charged us way more than anyone else. I knew it was high but I just wanted it done and I wanted it done right so I paid him what he asked for. He also said he'd install pond lighting and fix the sprinkler system. It is now March of 2016 and he still hasn't installed the pond lights or fixed the sprinkler system, which we paid him to do back in September. He did say he'd get around to the sprinklers after the Winter but when I called to set up weekly maintenance again he said he was all filled up. I reminded him about the sprinklers and pond lights and he well, he just didn't respond.
His fees for weekly maintenance were double what all the other landscapers around here charge. And the quality just wasn't there. Nothing he did justified the exorbitant rates. When they'd mow they'd mow on the highest setting so that you couldn't even tell the grass had been mown. You barely saw any tire marks. He said he's handled the sprinklers but I still have one head shooting forcefully straight at my living room window. When I alerted him to this fact again back in November, his response was to not use the sprinklers. ?? Well I hadn't planned on it until after the rains but I still expect the work to be done BEFORE then as I already PAID for it back in September! I still have not seen these mysterious pond lights that we paid for.
Aside from all the greed and shenanigans the most upsetting thing that happened was the death of my beloved pet chicken. He laid mulch thickly all over the place. He told me that it would be safe for my little girl. I waited a week to be sure but of course she ate some and got so badly clogged up that the vet couldn't do anything for her. She died at the vet's office. She was older but still very alert and healthy, an active hen. Brad assured me that she did not die from the mulch. My vet says otherwise. And speaking of the mulch, Brad's guys hosed the mulch down a small drain that holds a small pump. It's a drain not designed to carry large chunks of mulch. It nearly burned out. We had to have someone out to fix it. We didn't charge Brad although he was certainly responsible. Of course he never owned up to his responsibility.
What I find here is a lack of professionalism, fairness and honesty. He even brags about how much he gets out of some customers. Thousands a month! No yard is worth thousands per month for maintenance. I think he thought my measly $500 a month (give or take) just wasn't worth it to him. And I guess he thought I should continue paying that insane amount all through the Winter, even though my yard is a marshland in the Winter. He expects me to pay guys a lot of money to just slosh around out there and pretend to be doing something? He says it evens out in the end. How? He charges DOUBLE everyone else, does terrible work and is unreliable. How is that "evening out"?
He never did anything he said he'd do. He said he'd build a rain garden in this area of the yard that is always a marshland. (We have french drains, they don't work.) He didn't. He never installed the pond lights we paid him to install. He never fixed the sprinkler system we paid him to fix. And his maintenance was sad even though he charges DOUBLE everyone else. And when I stalled service over the Winter, he dropped our account! Of course he never informed me of this until I called to get back on the schedule come Spring. Now he says he's into construction. I think he's really into scamming customers out of their hard-earned money. Since he's not from this country he's taking quite a risk. He could easily be deported. BUYER BEWARE. This guy is simply untrustworthy.
