  Any suggestions on simple but good resources for wound care and identifying and treating skin conditions? Like basic books or charts you've used? I will be heading to Africa in a couple months and volunteering at an orphanage. There is a nurse there part of the time but other times it's someone with no medical background cleaning and treating wounds on the kids. I've already sent them the book "Where There Is No Doctor" which is a very, very basic care book I thought would be helpful for care and education when there is no nurse but I am looking for something more geared towards medical professionals. Also, I asked what they need most and they said acetaminophen, emesis basins, and antibiotic creams. I plan on buying some supplies but does anyone have connections or suggestions on how to get these items or other useful things like vitamins?

  I used Supplies Over Seas for supplies when I went to Africa. They had a full list of 'partner' organizations in the US. Contact them and I'm sure they can assist! http://www.suppliesoverseas.org
