Hello and welcome to Polley DJ. My name is Brandon Polley and I am the owner/ DJ. I started DJ’ing in 2006 and have since DJ’d hundreds, or probably thousands of events by now. I pride myself in being very professional and using high quality equipment. When you’re just relaxing listening to music it’s probably not a big deal if your iPod crashes but a wedding reception is a whole different deal! I have tens of thousands of songs and can download almost anything requested. I recently upgraded all of my sound equipment to Bose for the best possible sound. You can rest easy knowing that Polley DJ will provide you with a professional and reliable event experience. Here are some common questions!
What do you charge?
A typical wedding reception which lasts 5-6 hours is $500. No, I don’t make $100 an hour. I have thousands invested in my equipment, music, and training. Sure, you can get a DJ for less but do you want to risk your wedding reception over $100?! If I’m just being ridiculous on my pricing I will negotiate but feel my prices are fair for what you get.
What if your computer crashes?
I use a laptop, two iPad Minis, and an Android tablet… good to go!
What if your speaker blows?
I use two fully self-contained Bose units. If one dies I’ll cry but you probably won’t notice a difference. I usually use both of them at the same time or have them both with me depending on the size of your venue.
What if someone requests a song you don’t have?
Both my tablet and cell phone have mobile hotspots so I can usually get it within a few songs.
Can I request anything?
Sure, but I try to use my own discretion on whether or not it’s appropriate. I will play a lot of stuff but once again pride myself for being professional, which is another word for common sense!
What if the power goes out?
My equipment runs off 110 volts… without it we wait or all go home! I do have a generator if there is no power on location.
Is your equipment good quality?
The best! I only use Bose... show more
sound systems which have a very good reputation for sound quality. I did a ton of research in building my system piece-by-piece to ensure it would do what I needed. It can play classical all the way to bumping hip-hop.
How many people can your system accommodate?
My current system will accommodate up to around 300. I have rarely ever needed anything more than what I have but if I do I will buy what I need and work with you on pricing. I will not be outdone!
Do you require a deposit?
If I’m going to hold open a Saturday for close to year just in case you want me to DJ, a deposit would be kind of nice… Usually a Benjamin is sufficient!
When do I pay you?
The day of the event, or sooner if you’d like.
Do you have lights?
Yes, I have a few LED can lights and some others I use. show more
