  We are looking for a trainer in a couple of months when it gets warmer, to saddle start a 15hh 2.5-3yo gelding (finishing his teething atm). We are after a soft snaffle mouth, with kind but effective start, in a style suitable for progressing to cattle work or polocrosse. (We have a second gelding that needs more time to mature mentally) experience with brumbys or station horses would be good. Please feel free to recommend yourself. Experience essential and must be open, honest and transparent in methods and treatment. Thanks in advance.

  I wouldn't go past David Simons, you couldn't ask for a more soft, supple and responsive horse. Has had many years experience in all disciplines and coaches many top riders people do not realize the caliber of international competition horses that David has performance trained or coached the riders. Check out his website www.davidsimons.com.au and I know while your horse is in training that you are welcome any time to go and watch and be a part of the process. Also check out the equitana Mitavite Waler project from 2013... David clearly was the outstanding trainer with his Waler named Gunner. He has also won The Way Of The Horse and many other training titles.

  I wouldn't go past David Simons, his breakers always are soft, supple and most importantly calm. To see Davids with a horse and the silent communication he has, is amazing to watch. He is known internationally for his expertise. He trains horses and riders for that matter of all disciplines and levels.
