  My landlord is trying to increase my rent; looking for info on rental law in Chico **I am explicitly not looking for legal advise in this post.** Our landlord is "requesting a rent increase" of $105 (8.78% of the agreed monthly rent amount) in a little over one month; I've scoured the City websites for any ordinances that cover this topic but cannot find any. I am inclined to say "no" to this request but not sure of my legal right to do so; does anyone know where I can find a current copy of the city ordinances or a person/group that can provide more information about our local rental laws?

  Legal Services of Northern California. I am currently working with them in regards to the home I rent, a bullying landlord and should FEMA not follow through. They have been amazing thus far.
