Foodies of Edinburgh: What are your secrets? Foodies of Edinburgh: what are your secrets? Where do you love to eat which no one seems to know about? Where do you do your shopping? Here are a few of my own:
One of my favourite places to have lunch is a tiny Vietnamese restaurant on Grove Street called [**Vietnam House Restaurant**](http://www.vietnamhousescotland.com/). Fantastic food and a very affordable price.
Recently been having late weekend lunches at a cafe called [**Rocksalt**](http://www.list.co.uk/place/103322-rocksalt-cafe-deli/) at the bottom of Constitution Street. Nice open planned seating with fantastic choices of sandwiches, hot food and drinks.
When it comes to buying spices, never buy them from the supermarket - go to an ethnic supermarket, they will always have the exact same spices in a larger quantity and for a cheaper price. [**Pat's Chung Ying**](http://www.patschungying.co.uk/) has a wide range of spices as well as other Asian foods.

[Howies](http://www.howies.uk.com/) for me. £8.95 for two courses at lunchtime and BYOB. They do an amazing banoffee pie. For tasty tea and cake, [Eteaket](http://www.eteaket.co.uk/tea-room/) on Frederick Street is great.
