  Does anyone know someone who would clean cloth of silver? (See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloth_of_gold) It's an old church vestment which is made of cloth of silver which has tarnished over the years. There is also silver embroidery but that is better preserved. I've heard things like rubbing with breadcrumbs and spirit of wine for silver embroidery, but this is a pretty big garment! Is there anywhere which deals with the sort of thing? I'm going to give Upstage a ring, but this seems like more of a restoration job than a cleaning one.

  I use Bradley's Dry Cleaners in Milton Keynes. They do fabric restoration as well. Might be worth trying them. http://www.bradleysqualitydrycleaning.co.uk
