  Questions about buying minis Hi everyone, I’m DMing my first in person game. I’ve dm’ed on Roll20 before, but never in person so I’ve never bought minis for monsters before. Does anyone have any favorite online shops they’d like to recommend? Or would I be better served in buying from my local game shops? Also I know there are options to buy minis pre-painted, but I assume that’s both more expensive and runs the risk of them being painted in a way you don’t like the look of, would you recommend that or should I just buy them unpainted, and learn how to paint them myself? Any advice or tips would be super helpful, thanks in advance!

  Around here, the only place I know of that still sells minis is Vault of Midnight. Online options like miniaturemarket.com will almost always be cheaper, but the quality can vary a lot, and you’ll have to deal with shipping.

  Miniature market generally has the best prices. Free shipping at $99. Atomic Empire is free shipping at $75 and they carry all the sleeves I use.

  Amazon is usually best of you have prime. Miniature Market and Coolstuffinc are cool, but you have to spend 100 bucks for free shipping and their shipping times are a lot longer than prime (two days)

The reason for looking to A&A Bandits High over the others is that the price tag is much lower (especially in Canada), but there are more expansions available for Armada/X-Wings, and Armada and X-Wings are really good games in their mechanics, while Bandits High looks more ehh.   Look for some of the X-Wing Buy, Sell, Trade groups on here if you're looking to get into X-Wing. You can find some really good deals on the expansion packs for X-Wing. The Force Awakens is the core set you'll need if you're looking to be playing in tournaments as it has the damage deck that is tournament legal, I believe.   I'm pretty sure the singles have all been taken from boosters or traded in. Like I said before, I have bought over 100 singles, and never had any that were damaged. I bought from 12-7, Miniature Market, and Strike Zone. Some singles are doubles that were traded in and therefore still in plastic.

I live in Michigan right now and I have a bunch of AAM pieces in storage in Missouri, so I'm looking to buy some and get back into it. Does anyone know where I could buy a starter set and some boosters without having to deal with the idiots on eBay who price gouge starter sets for $60 frigging dollars? There are no game stores near me that even sell them anymore. I'd be willing to buy a couple of used armies if the price is fair. Some used armies are selling for $500-$750 on eBay. That's just a little stupid.

  Good luck on the starter set. U can make ur own maps tho relatively cheap. And print off a rule book. Check miniaturemarket.com out I recently bought a little over a dozen boosters from them delivery was on time and it was 110 for a case that was the best price I found 10 dollars a booster pack
