Structural engineer!? The house that keeps on giving in Buda, now wants to pull itself apart. Any recommendations for Structural Engineers? Greatly appreciated!
We are wanting to remove a wall in our home, and need to determine if it is load-bearing or not. Does anyone have a recommendation of an engineer or a carpenter or a contractor who we might consult...
Jeff Tucker of Tucker Engineering (512-255-7477) will evaluate the wall and let you know the size of LVL beams needed. For a verbal report, he charges $300. For a written report, it is $400. Ive used him multiple times and highly recommend him. Debbie on Northridge
I'm looking for an engineer to determine whether or not I need foundation repairs done. I'm hesitant to call a foundation repair service as it would be in their interest to say I do need repairs....
Hi, Tucker Engineering will give you a foundation report - they are a structural engineering co. I think it was between $300-$400 for the analysis. http://www.tuckerengineering.net/ :) Susie
Anybody have someone affordable & reliable with a good warranty?
I've just had my foundation done, so here's my two cents on this. 1) Hire an engineer yourself, it only costs $500 or so. Don't let a foundation company tell you where you need piers. And you want someone who is working for you inspecting the foundation company's work. 2) Don't go for cheap, necessarily. Our engineer said he thought All-in-One, Austin Foundation Repair, and Capitol Foundations did the best work in town. I used Jeff Tucker, Tucker Engineering. www.tuckerengineering.net -- I think that was the address.
