  Major Plumbing Recommendations I need to have some major plumbing work done, and am hoping to get some local recommendations from anyone that's had similar work done. My house was built in the 1950's, and the original cast iron pipe was never replaced. Well, now the pipe right under the kitchen has deteriorated and left me with basically no drain out of the kitchen. I have a couple quotes, the cheaper being $13K, by a good company that's done other work for me to basically run all new PVC plumbing to the main drain. If you have an experience with this, and a good company, please let me know. Hoping to get the price down as low as possible while getting it all done above board (permits, etc). Thanks.

  We use [Allen Plumbing](http://www.allenplumbing.com/) for all of our plumbing work. We've never had to do anything as major as what you are needing so I really don't know how much Curtis would charge but I've always been happy with his work.

  I swear by Curtis Allen from Allen plumbing 713 683 0448 He's always curteous, knows his stuff, discusses with me any questions I have for him. AND comes with his own price binder for every scenario so that when I ask him how much something will be, he just looks it up and tells me what is written there. I never have to wonder if he's making something up off the top of his head. I can't rave enough about him. I gave his number to someone in the community who called him to get his opinion on something and while he knew he was not getting the job, he gave her the time and information she asked.
