could anyone please recommend a tire place here in Weston for today where I won't get ripped off and they'd be open to using a plug--instead of a patch--since it is a very small nail and I have to change all the tires soon anyway? THANK YOU.
Jim S. replied:
Tire plugs are illegal in the state of Florida. They have to patch it by law. It's also a huge liability on their part if they install the plug in your tire. For new tires, your best bet would be a Wholesale Club like Costco or Sam's Club etc. you can also go to Goodyear.com and check to see if they're having any current specials. Sometimes they have super deals. Best of luck.
Does anybody know of a shop that will shave tires in the Philadelphia area? I've heard that CJ's in Birdsboro, PA and Radial Tire in Silver Springs, MD offer this service. Silver Springs is a pretty...
Justin, Radial in Silver Spring does do them. He does mine all the time. They should be mounted to go on the machine. After they are shaved, he re balances them. He did Vince Bly and my Hankooks just before the Divisional and has done Falkens for me before too. If they are used, he would prefer that you try and clean all the sand and little stones out of the tread if possible. 301-585-2740. Craig Garfield, Solo Chairman
